CARTOON NETWORK IN BUTLINS RESORT GAME SHOW DEAL
Cartoon Network Enterprises has signed a year-long deal with Butlins Resorts to create and license a brand new interactive game show called the Cartoon Network’s Wheely Big Super-Toontastic Game Show. Included in the deal is a live show, costume character appearances and a retail presence in Butlin’s onsite stores.
Commencing in May 2008, the live show will run twice a week at each of Butlin’s three UK resorts, Skegness, Minehead and Bognor. Every show will be compered by a Butlins Redcoat and will feature a host of Cartoon Network’s most popular characters.
Cartoon Network stars taking part include Ben 10’s alien hero Fourarms, Dexter and Dee Dee from Dexter’s Laboratory, Grim from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Bloo from Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Edd from Ed, Edd n Eddy, Agent 5 from Codename: Kid Next Door, Johnny Bravo and Skatoony’s Chudd Chudders & The Earl.
Nibs Dearsley, Director of Marketing and PR at Turner Broadcasting said: “The Wheely Big Super Toontastic Game Show is a great concept and we’re delighted that audiences at Butlins will have the opportunity to be entertained by some of our greatest stars. As one of the top family resort destinations in the UK, Butlins is the perfect choice for a show of this scale.”
Mike Godolphin, Head of Entertainment at Butlins adds: “We’ve built our reputation on top quality live entertainment and are really proud that Cartoon Network has chosen Butlins to stage this exciting year long show at all three of our sites.”
The interactive show will use specially commissioned animation and video clips and will encourage audience participation. The entire performance is approximately 70 minutes in duration.
