BOOMERANG GOES 100% POLISH, AIRTIME FOR SALE

London, 14th January, 2008. Turner Broadcasting announces the full localisation of Boomerang in Poland. As of 1st February 2008, Scooby Doo, Tom, Jerry and the Flintstones – among other favourite cartoon heroes - will speak in Polish to their Polish fans, as a next step in a series of improvements of our services in the territory. Additionally, from now on, we are offering Boomerang airtime for sale via Turner’s sales partner, Discovery, who sell air time on Cartoon Network.

“Full localisation of Boomerang is part of our ongoing commitment to the Polish market. Adding advertising on Boomerang will provide an environment with a wide range of advertising opportunities as classic animation featured on Boomerang attracts large portion of grown up audience, “ said Gordana Duspara-Moriarty, VP & General Manager, Central & Eastern Europe and Benelux, Turner Broadcasting System Europe

“We are very happy that our cooperation with Turner Broadcasting will further expand. I believe that Boomerang is a great addition to our portfolio of channels and will fulfil an existing market need for younger children targets. It will also increase the inventory potential in this target group and create new exciting environment for both standard and innovative advertising solutions, “– said Katarzyna Kieli, VP Country Manager Central Europe, Discovery Networks Europe.

Boomerang is a channel featuring the best in classic animated entertainment.
It’s the timeless, nostalgic cartoons on Boomerang that make it a popular choice with parents and is particularly acknowledged by mothers, as it is perceived as airing “safe” cartoons. Therefore it is seen as suitable for younger children, being the target audience of four to nine year olds.
Teenagers also tend to enjoy Boomerang as it has a retro feel to the programming and is therefore considered quite cool to watch.
